The GTRI Conference Center is the perfect venue for federal, state, university and professional society events. It is also available to select nonprofit organizations. The facility is home to more than 300 events each year. With over 10,000 square feet of prime event space, it is the ideal place for small to mid-sized events.

From Hartsfield International Airport and Points South of Atlanta
- Take I-75/I-85 North through downtown Atlanta to the 14th Street/10th Street exit.
- Turn left at the first light onto 10th Street.
- Cross over the interstate and go about 0.5 miles.
- Turn right on State Street (Pappa John’s Pizza on the corner) and go about 0.3 miles.
- Turn right on 14th Street (Kool Korners and Jimmy John’s on the corner) and go about 0.2 miles.

From Points North/Northeast of Atlanta
- Take I-85 South to the exit marked 10th/14th/17th Streets.
- Take the 17th Street Exit.
- Turn right at the first light onto 17th Street (Atlantic Station will be on the right) and go about 0.3 miles.
- Turn right on to 16th St and get into the first left turning lane.

- Take I-75 South to the exit marked 10th/14th Streets. This exit will also take you to 16th Street.

The GTRI Conference Center is next door to Georgia Public Broadcasting. The building is conveniently reached by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). MARTA Directions
- Ride MARTA to the Arts Center Station, located on West Peachtree Street. The GTRI Conference Center building can be reached by bus or by foot.
- To reach the GTRI Conference Center building by bus from the Arts Center Station: After you exit the train, take the stairs, escalator or elevator to the bus level and board the 98 West End/Arts Center bus, which runs directly to the GTRI Conference Center building on 14th Street. The bus will leave the station, arrive on 14th Street and cross over Interstate 75/85. The GTRI Conference Center building will be on your left just before the intersection with Westshire Place. The building is large and prominent and next door to Georgia Public Broadcasting. After exiting the bus, cross the street.
- To reach the GTRI Conference Center by foot from the Arts Center Station, after you exit the train, go up one level and exit to West Peachtree Street. Follow the street left (south) one block to the intersection with 14th Street, at which point you will have reached 14th Street. A large skyscraper, Atlantic Center, will be on your left. Crossing West Peachtree, go right (west) on 14th Street, which will be downhill. Keep walking. You will pass over the interstate. The GTRI Conference Center will be on your left, just before the intersection with Westshire Place. The building is large and prominent and next door to Georgia Public Broadcasting.
To Return to Arts Center Station from GTRI Conference Center via MARTA
If taking the 98 West End/Arts Center bus, locate a bus stop on the south side of 14th Street. The bus will return you to the Arts Center Station. If you choose to go by foot, walk back up the 14th Street hill until you reach West Peachtree Street. Turn left on West Peachtree, and the Arts Center Station will appear up a block on your right.
Visitor Procedures
Classified visits are necessary when the purpose of the visits cannot be achieved without access to, or disclosure of, classified information. All classified visits require advance notification to and approval of GTRI.
Visits to the Institute Involving Access to Classified Information
- GTRI visitors must sign in and out on the register for classified visits with the building attendant of the building visited. All visitors attending classified meetings must have an approved classified visit request for the specific visit on file with the GTRI Research Security Department.
- All visitors will have their identity verified and remain under constant escort when in areas in which classified work is in progress or classified information is available, unless otherwise authorized by the Research Security Department. The designated escort will be made aware of the visitor's access and movement limitations by the visitor's point of contact. Transfer of escort responsibility to another employee will be accomplished directly and personally.
- Visitors will be prohibited from making recordings during classified discussions, or taking photographs in any area where classified information might be recorded on film, unless the visitor has received prior written approval by the Government Contracting Authority (GCA) whose classified information is involved. A copy of this authorization must be provided to GTRI's director of research security in advance of the visit.
- Classified material may not be released to a visitor without prior written approval of the GCA, except as required in connection with contract administration, in performance of a prime or subcontract or as necessary in connection with an official investigation.
- Representatives of the federal government, when acting in their official capacity as inspectors, investigators or auditors, may visit the Institute without advanced notification, provided these representatives present appropriate government credentials upon arrival.
Long-term Visitors
Long-term visitors will follow GTRI's security procedures while a resident in the facility. Additionally, long-term visitors will:
- Arrange for their own visits away from the facility through their own company security office.
- Execute a security agreement acknowledging that they will follow GTRI's security policies and procedures. (Government employees and intermittent visitors are excluded from this requirement.)
- Not be permitted to be custodians of classified material.
Visits Not Involving Access to Classified Information
- Visitors will not be permitted to obtain physical, visual or aural access to classified information or material.
- When required, the visitor will present satisfactory identification and complete and sign the visitor register with the building attendant of the building visited.
- Prior authorization from GTRI's director of research security will be required for non-escort status and authorization to bring reproduction or recording equipment or material into the facility to be used in conjunction with a classified visit.

GTRI Conference Center Reservations
The GTRI Event Reservation Form must be completed and returned to GTRI in order for an event to be booked. No booking is final until an email confirmation has been received by the person/organization booking the event.
Catering
The GTRI Conference Center has an in-house catering kitchen for customer use. However, the facility does not offer on-site catering services. Customers are welcome to book their own caterers or contact one from our Atlanta Area Caterers list.
No food or drink may be served in the GTRI Conference Center without prior notification to the GTRI event staff. No food or drink is allowed in the auditorium.
Alcohol Policies & Procedures
No alcoholic beverages may served in the GTRI Conference Center without prior notification to the GTRI event staff and approval as mentioned below.
The prevailing policy on the consumption of alcoholic beverages on the Georgia Tech campus applies to all events held in the GTRI Conference Facility. It is the users responsibility to know and implement the Georgia Tech Alcohol Policy which states in general, "no alcoholic beverages may be served at any event unless prior approval is received from the Georgia Tech Facilities office." An email must be sent to Donna Castenell stating the date, location of the event and requesting permission to serve alcohol. A copy of this request should also be sent to GTRI Conference Center Event Coordinator Shelly Ward. All users are responsible for following the guidelines outlined in the Georgia Tech Alcohol Policy.
The GTRI Alcohol Service Agreement must be signed and faxed to Shelly Ward at 404-407-9017 prior to the event.
Lost Articles
Neither GTRI nor Georgia Tech will be responsible for equipment or personal items left in the GTRI Conference Center. Items found will be returned to the front desk of the GTRI Conference Center building. Please contact a member of the event staff for information concerning any lost items.
Parking
The GTRI parking deck is operated and maintained by the Georgia Tech Parking & Transportation Office. While parking at the facility is currently free, this is subject to change without notice. Prior to your event, please contact Shelly Ward, GTRI Events Coordinator, at (404) 407-6017 to confirm that the parking deck is still free to visitors. GTRI event staff must be notified for any events expecting more than 50 attendees.
The GTRI parking deck has 120 parking spaces for guests. With prior notification, the GTRI event staff can make arrangements for offsite parking depending on the number of attendees.
Parking is not allowed in front of the GTRI building. All guests must park in the GTRI parking deck. Buses are not allowed to turn into the GTRI Conference Facility as there is no room for them to turn around and they are too large to access the parking deck. GTRI event staff must be notified in advance if any buses will be coming to the GTRI Conference Facility.
Deliveries
All deliveries of large equipment, displays, etc. must enter and exit through the GTRI loading docks and not the front entrance.
Damages
Any and all damages by parties, guests, contractors, etc. are the responsibility of the group sponsoring/booking the function.
Tobacco
In accordance with the State of Georgia Regulations smoking is not allowed anywhere within the GTRI Building. This policy also includes other tobacco products. Employees and guests may only smoke in designated smoking areas outside the building. Smoking is allowed in the front area of the GTRI building at the end of the sidewalk near 14th Street and down the sidewalk by the parking deck elevators. Those smoking outside are responsible for the proper disposal of cigarettes and other trash. Please do not discard cigarettes in the flower beds.
Pets / Animals
For sanitation and safety reasons and as required by the Georgia Institute of Technology, pets are not allowed in the GTRI building except for service, disability or research purposes.
