Building and maintaining a strong culture takes dedication. We have developed resources and opportunities in the key places that will foster a culture of collaboration and connection.
Recognition
We are proud of the amazing work our researchers, staff, and students do every day, and believe the rest of the country needs to know about it. The GTRI Awards Council, established in 1996, ensures qualified GTRI team members have the opportunity to receive national recognition through awards, honors, and membership in more than 200 professional societies.

With our long and proud history of innovation, it’s important that staff, researchers and students have the opportunity to feel connected to that foundation. Both GTRI and Georgia Tech have deep-rooted traditions our people can participate in to develop a deep appreciation for the history of these institutions.
Our parent institution, the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), was founded in 1885 with just
80 students and has grown to one of the nation’s top public research universities. With a history spanning multiple centuries, many time-honored traditions have developed that are still recognized today.
Surroundings
Considered the cultural capital of the South, Atlanta has activities, sights and events for every person, no matter their interest. From fine art to sporting events, there’s always something to do within a few miles.
Atlanta is also one of the economic centers of the South, with many Fortune 100, 500, and 1000 companies calling it home. Despite that, the cost of living in Atlanta is 2% cheaper than the national average, comparable to a city like Dallas or Miami.
