GTRI is headquartered on the Georgia Tech campus in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, but our laboratories are found on and off the main campus with more than 20 field offices around the nation. Founded in 1934 as the State Engineering Experiment Station by pioneering legislators and regents , GTRI has long stayed true to the roots those founders laid 90 years ago: real-world research that solves tough problems for government and industry.
GTRI engineers are helping U.S. airplanes and helicopters to avoid enemy missiles and ground fire and to respond with effective defensive measures if attacked.
A team at the GTRI has developed a small electronic sensing device that can alert users wirelessly to the presence of chemical vapors in the atmosphere.
The Georgia Tech Research Institute hosted several high school groups as they toured Georgia Tech robotics exhibits during Georgia Tech’s Robotics Demo Day.
