Jonathan Odom, Ph.D., is the Lab Director for the Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL).
Jonathan holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with extensive experience leading and managing technical programs that enable high impact capabilities for national security. He most recently served as an Associate Lab Director in SEAL, where he had oversight of lab project execution and business development.
Jonathan previously served concurrently in the positions of program manager at the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) as well as the chief mission applications architect at the Office of the Secretary of Defense Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office. From 2019 to 2023, he was a program manager in the Adaptive Capabilities Office at DARPA, creating technology to drive new warfighting architectures. While detailed to federal service, Jonathan worked across military departments, defense agencies, and the intelligence community to deliver global capabilities for combatant commands and received an award for creating rapid deployment methods for secure software from DARPA. He worked the full lifecycle of research efforts from ideation through transition into operations as a project director, program manager, and resource owner across a wide variety of technologies from sensing to artificial intelligence with applications from radar, electromagnetic spectrum operations, and battle management.
